Pakistani Prime Minister Yousaf Gilani: "We are persuading them that these drone attacks are creating problems for us. You convince them (the Americans), and we are also telling them that it is making our work difficult."

U.S. Servicemen Killed by Drone Strike in Afghanistan

NBC News is reporting a U.S. Marine reservist and a U.S. Navy medic were killed in Afghanistan last week when they were hit by a Hellfire missile fired from a U.S. Air Force Predator drone. It is believed that this is the first time that U.S. servicemembers have been killed by a Predator in a friendly fire incident.

U.S. Attacks Kills 9 Afghan Boys

Nine Afghan boys have been killed in a U.S.-led NATO attack in Afghanistan. The boys were gathering firewood in the northeastern province of Kunar when a helicopter opened fire. On Wednesday, U.S. commander, Lt. Gen. David Rodriguez, issued a public apology.

Lt. Gen. David Rodriguez: “On behalf of the coalition and based on the initial findings of a combined assessment team, I want to offer my sincere apology for the killing of nine children in Dara-I-Pech…

America Almost Home

Because the ground doesn’t give up its yards without a fight.

That is, until you rewrite the playbook,

change how you see the game, and realize

that when you rule the air, anything is possible.

Rule The Air.

the soldiers full of fields and pain
describe their world to Dan again

Murkowski’s locked in a tight race
I don’t care, go pick vegetables
is what one soldier doesn’t say to another
from the other side, I’m thinking Auden

if were alive, would be on Punk’d
and laughing, sigh:

About suffering they were never wrong,
The Old Masters: how well they understood
Its human position; how it takes place
While someone else is eating or opening a window or just walking dully along…

It’s the same, but different now.

I write expensive ships of signs,
while the somewhere to get to falls out of the sky.
Ashton Kutcher, the old master, chimes.

Meanwhile, Dan walks out of the shower
and I read this poem near someone

who dies in Iraq while floods ravage Pakistan
on your computer. It’s cliche! Everything’s new.

“You must foreground it as background.”
Zizek talks about this in Children of Men.

(Ideology is what you don’t see
but is already a part of your ken!)

Our poems are, at worst, today
statues of Michelangelo, deprived

of all connection. At best,
they are boats taking us elsewhere.

What neither Brueghel nor Auden mentions is that after the scene in the masterpiece passes by, Icarus surfaces, and slowly, patiently, learns to swim.
